Types of TESDA Certifications

National Certificate (NC)

Awarded to individuals who have achieved all the required units of competency for a national qualification as defined under the Training Regulations.

  • Covers complete qualification
  • Valid for 5 years (for some qualifications)
  • Can be used for employment locally and abroad

Certificate of Competency (COC)

Awarded to individuals who have satisfactorily demonstrated competence on a particular or cluster of units of competency.

  • Covers specific competencies only
  • For those not yet qualified for full NC
  • Can be combined to eventually earn NC

Assessment Requirements

To apply for TESDA assessment, you need to prepare the following documents:

  • Duly accomplished Application Form
  • Original and photocopy of any valid government-issued ID
  • 2 pieces passport-size ID pictures with white background
  • Proof of training (certificate or diploma) for qualifications requiring mandatory training
  • Self-assessment guide for walk-in applicants without formal training
  • Other documents as required by specific qualifications

Anyone can apply for assessment as long as they:

  • Are at least 15 years old (some qualifications may have higher age requirements)
